I have a copy of Louis Auchincloss's
The Education of Oscar Fairfax at the bottom of one set of shelves -- I hadn't looked at it for months -- last night I moved it into a box -- and when I read the
New York Times website this morning, Auchincloss was dead.
oh dear! point to self: be glad I don't have a book to my name that you could extract from the depths!
